We help by listening to you

We believe in treating each client as an individual (because no two guts are the same) and take time to get to know you as a person. This allows us to work with you to develop strategies that suit your personalised nutrition needs.

Whilst our special interest in gut health has allowed us to develop a high level of expertise in managing gut issues, research is increasingly showing us that the gut also plays a vital role in both physical and mental health.  This is a new and exciting way of thinking about well-being.

Our dietitians have experience working with all different types of clients, and combined with our love for research, we have developed a deep understanding of health and food… and how they are related to each other.  We understand that food plays an integral part of daily life, and aim to bring ease and enjoyment to your eating.  We know that it is about more than just “nutrients” and all kinds of factors play a role in your symptoms and health…eating behaviours, sleep, stress, exercise.  So a consultation with us will include a variety of strategies to help you build your own “tool-box”, enabling you to master your health over the long term.

What to expect at your appointment

We consult with our clients face-to-face or, if you cannot attend in person, we can connect by video or phone. Home visits can also be organised. We like to think outside the box, and have been known to include grocery store visits, or home cooking education with our clients.

We are flexible with our clinic opening hours, which allows us to be more accommodating to your needs. Initial appointments are 60 minutes, and standard review appointments are 30 minutes.

Fees vary according to appointment type and this will be discussed when booking. Please call us if you would like more information.

You don’t require a referral to see us.

  • If you have private health insurance, you may be able to claim a rebate on your consultations if covered for a dietitian.
  • If you have a long-standing condition like diabetes, you may be able to claim a Medicare rebate if your GP has developed a GP management plan with you.
  • We work with DVA clients, NDIS clients (self-managed or plan managed), workers compensation or insurance cover.

Initial appointment:  60 minutes

The aim of the first session is to get to know you so that the education and advice we provide is personalised to your unique needs.  We aim for this to be a safe space where you can share and feel listened to.

  • We will assess your current dietary intake, your eating habits, food intolerances and any food preferences. We will also spend time talking about how your lifestyle, family and work impacts on your eating habits.
  • We will review your medical history, medications and supplements, tests results and doctors letters.
  • You will be provided with up-to-date nutrition information for your health or digestive conditions. The issues you are seeing us for will always be considered with your overall health and wellbeing in mind.
  • We will work with you to develop goals and some strategies for achieving those goals, provided a dietary plan when appropriate and the skills you need to make these changes a reality.

Review appointment:  30 minutes

Changing your eating habits can be challenging, and review sessions help us to celebrate wins with you, but also troubleshoot difficulties.  Together we can monitor your progress and provide you with accountability; and research shows that you can see better results working with a qualified dietitian than if trying to go it alone.

  • We will check in with you to discuss the progress made towards your nutrition goals, and use a variety measures when considering this. Over time, we will work together to update your goals, and we include ongoing education to empower you become a master your own health.
  • We review any food and symptom diaries
  • Our team are skilled problem solvers, and we will work with you to find strategies that work.
  • We communicate with your health team (your GP or specialist) throughout the process to ensure you have continuity of care.
